Abstract EN

This study examines some nouns al mamnu’ min-al Sarf (diptotes) formed on the pattern of a verb.

It attempts to study their weak forms as mentioned by grammarians, by surveying the most important opinions stated by scholars and indicating their positions in the past and the present.

The study includes an introduction, a preface, two sections, and a conclusion.

The preface deals with how grammarians restricted diptotes, states the reasons for restricting their morphological changes, and draws on the scholars’ positions on this issue.

The first section explores the reasons for restricting diptotes due to their syntactic class as proper nouns and / or formation on a verb pattern, in addition to examining the positions and critical stances of scholars in this regard.

Similarly, the second section covers the reason for restricting diptotes due to their syntactic class as adjectives and / or formation on a verb pattern, along with examination of the scholars’opinions and critical attitudes on the subject.
