Abstract EN

The care and teaching of the disabled with special needs is one of the problems that faces all contemporary societies.

No society is devoid of a significant proportion among its individuals that have one or more types of disability, and (2.5% -3% ) of the members of any society are mentally handicapped, so that this category got the most attention paid by specialists more than any other one.

Due to the attention given by the country to the disabled in general and the mentally handicapped in particular, there is an increasing need to develop the mathematics curricula offered in intellectual education schools in the light of the educational and training needs of this class of pupils, to make the process of learning mathematics and related skills valuable and beneficial to them, to give those pupils the opportunity to use mathematical concepts and skills in meaningful practical situations, and to provide them with essential skills to participate in everyday social life.

The importance of the current worksheet is that it highlights the characteristics and classifications of mentally handicapped pupils and their appropriate teaching methods and styles.

It also provides a future vision for developing the content of mathematics curriculum and its teaching strategies for mentally handicapped pupils.

It is based on bringing human depth in dealing with this category with special needs.
