Abstract EN

The problem of the study dealt with the role of scientific research in the achievement of comprehensive development, as a result of conscious awareness of the role that scientific research have in promoting social and economic construction and accompanying cultural, economic and social development.

From this context, the scientific research contributes in the development process by focusing on issues related to development through field studies of the activities of institutions in the sectors of industry, agriculture, fisheries, extractive sectors, power generation, health sectors, education and services.

And provide the results of scientific research for the institutions to benefit from in the development of their productive activities and improve the working mechanism and development activity.

The study reached at a number of obstacles that affect scientific research and prevent them from reaching the community to comprehensive development.

Some of those obstacles are not providing financial and material support to researchers, and not providing the data needed by researchers in some studies, not focusing on the real problems of society, To study general problems and phenomena, to undertake research for scientific promotion and annual evaluation, and to contribute to real comprehensive development.

The study has made several recommendations, including interest in scientific research that contributes to the comprehensive development, as well as interest in research centers in the universities and support them and to encourage them to prepare research to promote local and national development, twinning at the level of research centers of Arabic and international universities, and materials for researchers, and the provide supplies and equipment for research centers to carry .out the required research and studies
