English Abstract

This research has endeavored to test the presupposed causal relationships between compliance with corporate governance, corporate entrepreneurial practices and corporate performance of listed firms in Iraqi Stock Exchange.

The results have shown a positive moral effect to corporate governance mechanisms represented in board independence, adequate disclosure, and audit quality on the performance, except ownership concentration.

In addition, all entrepreneurial practices; innovativeness, proactiveness, autonomy, and competitive aggressiveness have a positive and significant effect on the performance of those firms, while risk taking has a negative effect on performance.

However, the moral influence of corporate governance mechanisms on the performance has faded, as well as the influence of entrepreneurship practices has dropped when the moderator variable was inserted
