The electronic media directed to the Arab region is interested in covering the news of Iraq in a big way, especially Russian and American Arabic-speaking websites.

The problem of this study is summarized in a major question: How was the news coverage of Iraq security affairs on the Sputnik and Al-Hurra sites during the study period? Several sub-questions branched from this question in order to achieve the main objective of the study, which is to know how Iraqi affairs were covered in Sputnik and Al-Hurra.

The content analysis tool was used to access information by analyzing the news content related to Iraqi affairs in Sputnik and Al-Hurra during the study period of (928) subjects, distributed by (631) topics on the Sputnik website and (297) topics on the Al-Hurra siteThis study reached a set of results, the most prominent of which are: 1.

Sputnik and Al-Hurra have shown great interest in covering Iraq military and security.2.

Sputnik focused primarily on covering military operations and pursuing ISIS operatives.3.

Al-Hurra focused primarily on news of the popular crowd.4.

The study concluded that Sputnik has relied on self-sources (Correspondents, Delegates) for news coverage, while Al-Hurra has relied primarily on news agencies as a major source of ready-made news.
