Arab critics presented conscious studies in textual practices, which confirm that the Ar, since ancient times, had a clear and accurate conception of the concept of text; its core was formed in their early textual expressions.

This research aims to identify those attempts, and to follow up the various perceptions and limitations that approached the text, highlighting the most important textual criterion in our critical heritage.

This Research Paper also sheds the light on the concept of the text for the critic Said Yaktine, who had a great role in addressing this topic.

He showed great interest of the Arabic text, using this concept in a new way, which deviates from the textual conditions set by the traditional literary and cultural institution, in which were accepted texts and rejected the others based on the standards of that institution.

This prompted Yaktine to doubt those textual terms, looking for new textual and new standards faraway from any cultural or cognitive alignment.
