Abstract EN

This study aims to measure the impact of the oil resources curse on the fiscal policy in Algeria during the period 2000-2019, using the & Al 2008 model, which illustrates the nature of the relationship between revenues from the oil and revenues from domestic taxation, with conducting the necessary standard treatments for time series which allow the measurement of elasticities and track the reaction of variables in light of shocks.

The study concluded that the increase in oil revenues reduces the revenues of domestic taxation, and that there is an inverse long-term relationship between the two variables, which indicates that the Algerian economy suffers from the resource curse.

We find the interpretation of this results in the weakness of institutional factors, which was enhanced by the abundance of rent, which affected the domestic tax effort.
