Abstract EN

This research paper tackles the use of simile in selected verses of two Suras of the Qur'an: "Al-Baqara" and "Al-Umran".

The selected verses show the magnificence and the aestheticism of the use of this technique.

The significance of simile is achieved by the accumulation of meanings of the verses through the use of minimum words and revealing, in the same time, the hidden meanings with the beauty of style.

This is, in fact, one of the most important aspects that characterizes the Qur'an through drawing visual images as they are artistic portraits.

After defining simile linguistically and etymologically, I explained its characteristic ability in transforming facts without imagination and the frigidity of emotions.

The verses are carefully selected to show simile and all its connotations and denotations by focusing on puns, metaphors, ions or allusions.
