The study of the topic of economic relations between Turkey and Azerbaijan was of great importance, as it sheds light on the impact of the Azerbaijani oil wealth on the development of relations between them in particular, and between them and each of Russia and Iran and some of the Central Asian republics such as Uzbekistan, Turkmenistan and Kazakhstan in general.
The study reflects the extent of Turkey's urgent need for Azerbaijani oil and gas materials to boost its economy and international standing, as well as the international struggle over Azerbaijani energy sources, Turkish policy towards Azerbaijan and its neighboring countries is discussed and analyzed, as it succeeded in winning the battle in its favor, and achieved great profits that boosted its budget from the revenues of pipeline fees through its lands to European countries.
