The aim of the current research is to identify the impact of the DRTA strategy in reducing mental wandering among first - grade intermediate students in reading material and texts.The research sample consisted of (60) female students of the first intermediate grade in the governorate of Baghdad (Rusafa First Education) for the academic year 1920-2020 and was approved the researcher designed the experimental desing with partial control for two experimental and control groups because it fits with her research procwedures.

A School was chosen from among thaditionale schools affiliated to the First Rusafa Education Directorate, where the school included two divisions.The texts were according to the DRTA strategy,while the (b) section received the female students of the control group that studies the same subject in the traditional way.

The anchored students were excluded because they had previous experience in reading material and texts and the researcher between the two groups was rewarded with the pre-test first course grades and the IQ test it was found that there were no differences between the two groups in the variables mentioned above, and the researcher used the appropriate staaistical means for her research to extract the results.

The researcher concluded that the strategy has a clear and known positive effect in increasing students understanding of information and increasing their ability to understand the facts and knowledge that we have understood.

The researcher recommended including teaching methods in collegees of education for modern teaching strategies.

the researcher also suggested conducting a similar study using the DRTA strategy in other varibles such as smart thinking and creative thinking productive thinking and divergent thinking.
