Current research aims to identify: 1.

Levels of depth of knowledge among the fifth scientific students.

2.

The mental alertness of the fifth scientific students.

3.

The achievement level of the fifth scientific students in mathematics.

4.

Identify the relationship between levels of depth of knowledge and achievement among the students of the research sample, and indicate the type of relationship.

5.

Identify the relationship between mental alertness and achievement among the students of the research sample, and indicate the type of relationship.

6.Identify the relationship between levels of cognitive depth and mental alertness among the students of the research sample, and indicate the type of relationship.

The research sample consisted of (400) male and female students from the research community.

The researcher prepared a test of levels of mathematical cognitive depth, a measure of mental alertness, and an achievement test in mathematics, and appropriate statistical analyzes were performed, and the psychometric properties of the research tools were confirmed.

After applying the research tools, the data were collected, processed statistically, and the results showed: 1.The students of the research sample possess an above-average level of mathematical cognitive depth.

The research sample students possessing an above average level of mental alertness.

3.

The students of the research sample possess a good level in the achievement test in mathematics.

4.

The existence of a positive positive relationship between each of the levels of depth of knowledge and achievement among the students of the research sample.

5.

The existence of a positive positive relationship between each of the mental alertness and achievement of the research sample students.

6.

The existence of a positive positive relationship between each of the levels of cognitive depth and mental alertness among the students of the research sample.

In light of the results, the researcher reached a number of proposals.
