English Abstract

The current research aims at identifying the preventive coloration and moral disengagement, as well as identifying the relationship between preventive coloration and moral disengagement.

However, the current research is determined by counselors and educators in Baghdad governorate on both sides of al-Karkh and al-Rusafa and their general directorates of education in the academic year (2018-2019).

The research sample consists of (155) male and female educational counselors who are distributed among six directorates of education in Baghdad.

The sample is chosen by random stratified method, with a percentage of (8%) of the total population of (1872) educational counselors.

In order to achieve the objectives of the research, the researchers had to construct a preventive coloration scale.

The number of its itemes is (35), where the researchers adopted the theory (Fromm) as a theoretical framework for building the tool and defining the studied variable.The researchers adopted (Al-Hamidawi, 2018) scale to measure the variable of (moral disengagement) where the number of its itemes is in the final form is (32) items.

The psychometric properties of the two scales including the validity, reliability and the discriminatory power.

Thus, the data are processed with the help of the Statistical Package Program (SPSS) for psychological and social sciences in addiction to the use of the required statistical means.

However, the results show that the educational counselors have preventive coloration, and the researchers concluded that the educational counselors do not have an ethical disengagement, and the relationship between the two variables is a strong relationship, except that it is negative, inverse and a statistically significant.

The researchers arrived at a number of recommendations and suggestions, including making use of the scale of (preventive coloration and moral disengagement) in developing the work of educational counselors.

Among the suggestions are conducting studies about the two variables (preventive coloration and moral disengagement) on other samples such as university professors and employees.
