Abstract EN

The aim of this research is to reveal the effectiveness of digital stories in developing visual thinking skills in the Arabic language course for female students of the College of Education at the University of Hail, and the semi-experimental approach was used on a sample of (60) first-level students in the primary grades major in the College Education at the University of Hail, divided into two groups; A control group includes (30) female students, and an experimental group of (30) female students, and the research tools consisted of a list of visual thinking skills, a visual thinking test, and the design of digital stories to develop visual thinking skills targeted in the first-level Arabic language course specializing in elementary classes in the College of Education, The results of the research revealed the existence of a statistically significant difference at the level (0.01) between the averages of the experimental and control groups in the post application of the visual thinking test (visual reading skill, visual discrimination skill, information analysis skill, and information interpretation skill), and the presence of a statistically significant difference when Level (0.01) between the averages of the experimental and control groups in the post application to the visual reasoning test (total score).

In light of the results of the research, the researcher recommended a number of recommendations, including: including digital stories of all types in the curricula of the different educational stages, providing educational environments that develop and stimulate visual thinking and other types of thinking, and training faculty members and educational technology students to use and design digital stories and include them in their curricula.

The study includes, in the Arabic language course, various means and ways to present the lessons, such as digital stories.
