Abstract EN
The present study aimed to identify the social dimensions of the phenomenon of children begging in the city of Kirkuk and its causes, Types and forms , and ways of addressing them.
The researcher used the methodology of the case study and relied on a sample of 13 children between the ages of (7-13) year.
The study reached several conclusions, including: that family disintegration is one of the reasons that can lead to children begging, and that parents’ ignorance and lack of education may encourage children to beg, and also poverty and unemployment provoke children to beg.
The researcher also made several recommendations, the most important of which is to coordinate the efforts of the concerned ministries to stand up against this phenomenon and to provide job opportunities for the heads for poor families.
