The current research aims to know (the effect of the four pillars strategy on the achievement of first intermediate students in history and the development of their achievement motivation) .

The researcher chose an experimental design with two groups, one experimental and the other a control, and the two research groups (experimental - control) were rewarded with the following variables : Chronological age in months, degrees of the previous year, IQ test, tribal achievement motivation scale ) .

The current research was limited to first-grade intermediate students in (Tariq Bin Ziyad Intermediate School for Boys), which is one of the schools affiliated to the city of Baghdad / Al-Karkh Third Education Directorate.

The number of its students is (34) students, and the second represented the control group who study the same subject in the traditional way, which numbered (31) students.

Thus, the number of the research sample reached (65) students, and the material included the first, second and third chapters of the book (History of ancient civilizations) To be taught for the academic year 2016-2017 ..

In order to measure the level of student achievement, the researcher prepared a postachievement test consisting of a multiple-choice type, which was presented to a group of experts and referees.

The researcher verified his validity, consistency, difficulty and distinction.

The achievement test in its final form consisted of (40) paragraphs.

To measure achievement motivation, the researcher prepared a scale of (50) items, whose validity and reliability were confirmed .

:The search results showed 1)The experimental group students who study history according to the four pillars strategy outperformed the control group students who study history using the traditional method of achievement test .

2)The experimental group students who study history according to the four pillars strategy outperformed the control group students who study history in the traditional way in the achievement motivation scale .

.The researcher came up with a set of recommendations and suggestions
