The current research aims to identify the effectiveness of the strategy of meditation periods and thinking in the development of reading skills for second-grade students intermediate in reading and texts and to achieve the goal of the research, the researcher adopted an experimental design with partial control the researcher chose the random method of the medium Hala` Bint Khweeled belonging to the Directorate General of Education of Second Kaarkh/ Baghdad, which represents the experimental group, by (36) students, and secondary Welada Bint Al-Mistakfee In which the group represents the control group by (33) students, the sample of research (69) students rewarded the researcher between the two research groups in a number of variables, and after determining the scientific material formulated behavioral goals and numbers of teaching plans, the researcher began the experiment on Monday 5/10/2019 and ended on Tuesday, 15/1/2020, The researcher prepared a test in reading understanding, the researcher confirmed its sincerity and stability, and at the end of the application of the experiment applied a test in reading understanding, and to know the difference between the averages of the two research groups used the T-test for two independent samples in the processing of statistical data, and the results showed the superiority of the experimental group on The group that is officer in reading understanding the researcher concluded that teaching strategically periods of reflection and thinking led to their continuous benefit with their awareness of the importance of reading and its value, the researcher recommended the need to take care to study the strategy of meditation periods and thinking in other branches of The Arabic language and took a similar study in the variables of the dependent other than the reading understanding.
