Abstract EN
“More hands make lighter work.” Writing skill is an important part of communication.
Since a skill needs to be developed continually, the study is about investigating how a group work technique enhances the skill of writing.
The researcher hypothesis, that making the student work in a group when writing, is beneficial at the aspect of enhancing writing.
The idea that the researcher relies on is that a student may stop at a point for the sake of collecting ideas, while a group of students would overcome such an issue via completing each other.
The study is conducted for second class in the college of basic education – English department, Diyala University for the year 2019-2020.
The sample of the study is 40 students for the controlled group and the 41 for the experimental one.
The two groups were equal according to variables numbers like age, education, scores of achievement in English for the last year, scores of achievement on the pretest, and parents.
Both the tests were organized, and both the tests subjugated to validity and reliability.
Using group work in learning is proven to be more effective and fruitful in enchasing the skill of writing
