The study of the construction of Basra and Baghdad was important to geographers and researchers, but in our research we highlight some historians, including Al-Tabari in his book tarikh alrusul walmuluk, where he dealt with important and valuable texts about the construction of the cities of Basra and Baghdad, he was listing the talk about them from reliable storytellers, as the research highlighted the definition of the historian with a mention of his elders and style, the sources on which he relied in his novel.
