Abstract EN

The early Iraqi geographers' study is one of the serious scientific studies that denotes the scientific standing to every nation.

It is the product and the extraction of their scientists and researchers' ideas and opinions to recognize their status among Arab and international countries.

From this perspective, this study focuses on highlighting the role of the Pioneers of natural geography in Iraq from the beginning of the Department of geography until 1971 identifying their scientific contributions to books and researches and their supervision on university theses and dissertation and analyses them quantitatively and qualitatively in terms of their orientation, their scientific methodology and the influence of the early pioneers in the geographical schools from which they graduated (PhD level) this was done through a comprehensive survey and inventory of most of the first leading scientific heritage represented by personal files, geographical works and scholarly papers published in specialized academic, local, Arab and international periodicals and journals.

These works of Iraqi geographers in the Iraqi University and the facts that the geography department has authorized (the Masters and the doctoral theses) supervised by the early pioneers.
