w/ and /j/ are two sounds that are found in many languages of the world, namely, English and Arabic.
Though the manner of articulation of /w/ and /j/ is the same in both languages, their classification within vowels and consonants is different.
This study aims at comparing between the two languages to find out similarities and differences that under lies these two sounds.
Accordingly, the study begins with an introductory section followed by the literature review in both languages, then the comparison and the conclusions of the study.
