The aim of the current research is to identify the effect of using repetition and illustrations on the achievement of fourth-grade primary students in reading material and their tendency towards it, and to achieve these two objectives, two main hypotheses were developed, the first of which are three sub-hypotheses that have been subjected to experimentation.
Wana - Nineveh Governorate for the academic year 2017-2018.
The researcher used the experimental design with equivalent groups, two experimental groups, as each group is a control for the other group, as the research sample consisted of (51) students distributed into two groups, one of which was the first experimental consisting of (24) students and studied according to the method of repetition and the other experimental second formed Of (27) students, I studied according to the style of illustrations.
Where the researcher prepared the teaching plans, and the achievement of the two objectives of the research required the existence of tools to measure the three skills (reading comprehension, reading validity, and reading speed), and a tool for measuring tendencies towards reading material, and for the purpose of ensuring its validity, the tools were presented to a group of arbitrators to identify its apparent validity.
Then the reliability coefficient for the two tools was extracted by the re-test method, as it reached (0.89) for the achievement test, which in its final form consisted of (16) paragraphs and (0.86) for the tool for measuring the tendencies towards the reading material.
These two laboratories are good for testing.
The experiment was applied on 11/2/2018 and lasted (9) weeks.
After applying the research tools, the data were statistically treated using the (T-Test) for two independent samples.
The results showed the following: 1- There is a statistically significant difference at the level of (0.05) between the average scores of the first experimental group that were studied according to the method of repetition and the average scores of the second experimental group that were studied according to the method of illustrations by achievement in the three skills (reading comprehension, reading correctness, and reading speed) Combined in favor of the first experimental group.2- There is a statistically significant difference at the level of (0.05) between the average scores of the first experimental group that was studied according to the method of repetition and the average scores of the second experimental group that were studied according to the method of illustrations in the tendencies towards reading material in favor of the first experimental group.
