Abstract EN

The study aimed to identify the causes of environmental pollution, high temperature and the emergence of thermal islands in Dammam.

The researcher also addressed the analytical descriptive approach, which is based on analysis of the phenomenon, its description and development of solutions, in addition to the use of the standard approach by constructing the multi-linear regression model to measure the effect of independent variables on the dependent variable, which is the emission of carbon dioxide.

The researcher concluded that there is a strong relationship between economic growth and high environmental pollution in Saudi Arabia.

The study recommended that decision-makers should establish advanced medical centers in Dammam to conduct permanent medical examinations for the population to predict diseases in advance, especially those related to temperature change and air pollution, It also recommended the establishment of a scientific institute for economic, social and environmental research, which will prepare studies related to the environment and develop proposals to mitigate the consequences of the environmental crisis in Saudi Arabia.
