Abstract EN

The current study aims to identify the reality of Zarqa University students’ dependence on the cell phone and the gratifications that it achieves, and clarify the pros and cons of university students’ use of the cell phone and what they achieve in terms of gratifications, and reveal the presence of significant differences in morale about the reality of Zarqa University students’ dependence on cell phones, and gratifications.

Which he achieves according to the variables (gender, specialization, and academic level), and the study sample includes (150) undergraduate students, and the researcher used the descriptive and analytical approach, and relied on the questionnaire as a research tool.

The research has reached several results, the most important of which are: 1-The fact that Zarqa University students depend on cell phones came to a (high) degree from the viewpoint of the study sample.

2-The gratifications achieved by the reliance of Zarqa University students on cell phones came to a (high) degree from the viewpoint of the study sample; the second dimension came in the first order: “media and news gratifications”.

3-The negatives of employing university students for cell phones were of (medium) degree, according to the viewpoint of the sample members.

4-There are no statistically significant differences at the significance level (0.05) regarding the reality of university students’ dependence on the cell phone and its benefits achieved from its use according to the variables (gender or gender - specialization - and academic level).
