The importance of news reports comes from the fact that they satisfy the reader's curiosity with more details about the event, as well as the journalist's personal impressions and opinions and the last point is what distinguishes this journalistic art from news.

The researcher identified the problem of research, by asking: What are the scientific criteria for the technical construction of news reports in the Western media? This question is divided into two other questions.

First, what are the areas and topics covered in the news reports? Second: What are the sources of news reports? The research is important because it examines the phenomenon of some journalists do not know how to build news reports according to scientific standards, as well as to disclose their sources and areas of use in terms of subject.

The research aims to determine the scientific standards for building news reports and identify the extent to which editors adhere to them, and to uncover the areas of topics covered and types as well as identify sources.

The research resulted in the most important results: the editors are not restricted in some scientific standards in the research community to build news reports, and focus on political topics, and low interest in other topics, especially service topics, although important in the lives of citizens, in addition to the lack of outsourcing, as diverse as News agencies, newspapers, TV channels and news sites, rather than over-using anonymous sources in attributing information.
