The present paper is concerned with “Theatrical Discourse between the literariness of the text and the beauty of the performance”.
Literariness refers to the aesthetic function of the text as emphasized by Russian formalists while theatrical performance refers to the aural, vocal, and visual dimensions of the work which collectively compose the theatrical discourse.
The paper investigates how the author balances the two sides of drama to construct the overall structure of the work.
Both literary and performative aspects of drama contribute to give the play its final artistic form and it is this harmony between the two sides that influences the spectators' response to the work.
