The luxurious economic situation and the extravagance and generosity that supported the Abbasid community from material prosperity, while there was another life that represented misery, deprivation and material want.

This division in society led to the creation of two layers, the luxury class and the destitution layer.

From this impoverished class a class of poets was born who talked about the pain and sadness that they were suffering from at that time, and every poet spoke about himself and his opinion because it depicts the poet's psychological suffering and the hurt, deprivation and bad luck he feels.

The poets possess a delicate sense and a wonderful poetic taste, and they are the best to depict their feelings and what they contemplate with the sincerest and deepest feelings.

So poets expressed their positions in life in fine poetic language.

The research will be an overview of the society of the first Abbasid era, after which the meaning of pain and sadness in language and convention, then linking the meanings of pain and sadness to poetry, and we address the most prominent poets who embodied that pain and sadness in their poems.
