Abstract EN

The aim of the research is to identify the effectiveness of a proposed program based on the training needs for the development of teaching skills of the teachers of geography in the preparatory stage, and to achieve the goal of the research, the researcher used the experimental design with one group of pre and post test, as a sample consisting of (30) teachers who underwent the training program was selected.

The researcher prepared the achievement test, the observation card and a performance test.

Where the SPSS statistical program was used to analyze the research data, the results showed that there are statistically significant differences between the averages of the pre-test and post-test scores in favor of the post-test.

In light of the results, the researcher concluded the effectiveness of the proposed program based on training needs in developing the teaching skills of geography teachers, and recommended several recommendations, including: the need to hold training courses for teachers during service in order to develop teaching performance, in addition to the need to give teachers an effective role to identify the most important needs.
