The research in this field focused on, first and foremost, an examination of the legal document called ((The Umar Custody)) and also called ((Conditions for Omar)), which means the Book of Peace, which it was said that Caliph Omar bin Al-Khattab (may God be pleased with him) granted it to the people of Jerusalem when To open it, if it is the Muslims' habit to grant the dhimmah people in the cities they open a peace or covenant, they pledge to protect them and grant them freedom of worship in exchange for paying the tribute and other conditions.
This document has been discussed repeatedly over a long period of time in various research works of great orientalists, and there is an ongoing debate for various reasons about its history and circumstances, and about the validity of its attribution to the Caliph Omar Ibn al-Khattab, and this is what we are trying to highlight through a review and study of the views of these orientalists and to What they reached from the results about the life custody.
