There is no doubt that the correct construction of any state requires a solid economic base on which to establish the institutions of the state.

It is not possible to separate the political side from the economic one.

On the political stability of the country since its independence in 1956, Tunisia has been concerned with building a strong economic structure in order to complete the proper construction of its modern state.

Since that time Tunisia has been entrenched under the French protection system, which has drained its economy for many years.

Since the announcement of the republican system in Tunisia in 1957, the Tunisian government has taken the responsibility to build a modern western-style like country.

It was confirmed that the development plans and building economic and structural foundations are the first thing that the Tunisian government started to strengthen to support its new modern project which was adopted after Habib Bourguiba came to power; he announced a number of reforms in various sectors and institutions of the state, especially the economic aspect.
