Abstract EN

The study aimed at investigating the impact of efficiency of the performance of local commercial banks and making comparison between local and foreign commercial banks operating in Jordan.

The study used the statistical analysis of Panel Data Method.

The study sample consisted of 13 local commercial banks and 8 foreign commercial banks.

Data were collected from the annual reports of the banks in Jordan during the period 2010-2017.

The study revealed many conclusions including the existence of a negative impact of the inflation on return on assets in local and foreign commercial banks in Jordan، and that there is a positive impact of the growth rate of GDP and the ratio of capital adequacy on the return on assets in local and foreign commercial banks in Jordan.

The study presented several recommendations including the need for local and foreign commercial banks to study growth rates in both inflation and GDP.
