English Abstract

The aim of the current research is to know the relationship between the power of dispersal of alternatives in the multiple-choice questions in physics and the validity and stability of the test.

The current research included (105) students from the first intermediate grade students in the distinguished secondary school for the academic year 2017-2018, and the research tools were the multiple-choice test, which numbered (18) paragraphs, and the researcher applied the current research to the research sample during the first and second course For the academic year 2017-2018, as follows: extracting the coefficients of difficulty and item discrimination, the power of dispersal of alternatives, the standard deviation of the scores, and the test stability coefficient.

In light of the results of the current research, the current research reached the following results: The formulation of paragraphs for multiple-choice questions has an impact on the parameters of their distinction and difficulty, and in light of the results of the current research, the researcher recommends the need to adhere to the instructions available in the educational literature that include the scientific conditions for designing multiple-choice questions in order to avoid many weaknesses, the most important of which is guesswork.
