Abstract EN

This study deals with the biography of one of the famous writers of antiquity, the Roman historian Caius Plinyus Scondus, known as Pliny the Elder.

This study aims to introduce the personality of the writer Pliny the Elder and his book Natural History due to its importance in writing the history of Algeria during the ancient era in general and the Roman era in particular.

This study focuses on the upbringing of Pliny the Elder, then introduces his book Natural History, and finally (in the end it) deals with the valuable information mentioned in this book about the Algerian region in his time.

This study first finds out the origin of the writer Pliny the Elder and the various administrative and military positions he held throughout the Roman Empire.

It also introduces the various contents of his book Natural History and the information contained in this book about the Algerian region, especially the names of the cities, and the scientific production of King Yuba II.
