Abstract EN

The study aims to analyze the reality of Islamic insurance (Takaful) and its impact on gross domestic product (GDP) in Malaysia, one of the most important Muslim countries that aims at developing the Islamic finance industry and at supporting its growth.

It analyzes the reality of the insurance market (Takaful in Malaysia) through the evolution of asset growth during the period 2009-first half of 2017 and the impact of the said market on various economic activities, in particular, the productivity that will have a positive impact on GDP growth and development.

The analysis also highlights the possibility of adopting Islamic (Takaful) insurance as a tool for developing the Algerian insurance market by increasing its contribution to reducing investment risks and providing an encouraging and secure environment for small projects and medium-sized projects, in particular.

The study concludes that Islamic (Takaful) insurance has a significant positive effect on Malaysia's gross domestic product.

This type of insurance could therefore have a significant impact on the development of the Algerian insurance market, in particular by strengthening the insurance culture and stimulating investment in accordance with the rules enacted by Islamic law.
