Abstract AR
Abstract EN
Tunisia's independence on the 20th of March 1956 was welcomed but not by all Tunisians.
In fact, immediately after this event, the country was transformed into a field of violence taking different forms: a revolutionary violence incarnated in armed resistance against the colonial power and against those tunisians who cooperated with the enemy.
There is also political violence revolving around the conflict between the youssfists and the bourguibists.
The roots of this conflict dated back to the end of 1955.
Shortly after the declaration of independence, the ground was suitable for the increase of the social violence exercised by criminals.
Such violence overlapped with the two other types of violence.
That wave of violence represented at that time a real danger threatening the emergence of the independent Tunisian Country.
It also had a great influence on the social peace.
As a result, some urgent protective measures were taken.
Among them was the foundation of the High Court on the 19th of April 1956 whose aim was to deter violence users especially those who targeted the state.
Fortunately, things were settled down and violence was successfully faced up and lessened by the end of June the same year.
