Abstract EN

This article discusses the analysis of the relationship between the endemic corruption and the crisis of democracy in most Arab regimes based on the influence of that relationship on the development of the state and the progress of society, so that this study aims at clarifying the main pillars that contributed to the purchase and spread of corruption in most Arab countries.

Based on transparency International's Corruption perceptions Index with examples of the practices and role of ruling elites, The study therefore concluded that the environment directly linked to corruption should be addressed as the beginning of any serious reform, either toward a true democracy or to eradicate corruption, as each supports the continuation of the other
