Therefore, the research problem comes under the question; does the philosophy of criticism have an effect on the development of geographical research in particular and geographical thought in general? The descriptive analytical approach was adopted to achieve the research hypothesis, which is the importance of criticism philosophy on the development of geographical research through the analysis of Arab and foreign books to develop the geographical thought.

The research was divided into three main sections: geographical research, philosophy of geographical research, and criticism in geographical studies to gain the conclusions, the important among their: - The science of geography does not belong to the others natural, human or formal sciences.

Rather, it is a kind of bridge between those sciences.

Geographic knowledge need a special methodology and distinct.

- The implement of geographical research needs the philosophical basis even it is difficult to apply.

However, it can indicate the cognitive interdependence of knowledge and importance of the philosophy on scientific research
