Abstract EN

The aftermath of the modern world's ease of mobility and social networking has made it very accessible to individuals of different speech communities to learn from each other and get influenced by each other's' linguistic behavior.

In effect, this study aims at substantiating the extent to which US college students' linguistic behavior converge to the linguistic norms of a larger speech community.

Thirty undergraduate students from Indiana State University were surveyed to achieve the intended purpose of this investigation.

And the reported results show that students' dialects do not reflect a high degree of conformity.
