This research aims to analyse the actual level of teaching and professional competencies in the teaching performance of the university professor to know the abilities, skills, competencies and teaching available to him in the light of recent trends in curricula and teaching methods, and from the point of view of his students at Prince Sattam bin Abdul Aziz University in Wadi Al-Dawasir.

Also the variables that affect judgments issued by university students, the researcher used the descriptive analytical method.

The following findings were reached: ( The degree of availability of teaching and professionalcompetencies came with a high degree in the personal characteristics of the university professor, and a medium degree for the rest of the competencies, There are statistically significant differences in the degree of availability of teaching and professional competencies (preparation and implementation of the lecture, scientific and professional mastery, activities and methods of evaluation, methods of reinforcement and motivation, communication and human relations), it is attributed to the variable type of faculty in favour of humanities colleges, There are no statistically significant differences due to the variable of academic achievement, there is need for future improvement the actual performance of the university professor in the teaching and professional competencies).

In the light of these results, the research made some recommendations: ( Continuity in training and qualification to balance the academic, professional and cultural preparation of the university professor, create and establish a joint specialized body in order to develop and upgrade the performance, evaluate the performance according to transparent and public criteria
