Abstract EN

There are linguistic treasures exist in our holy Quran.

An example of that is the different use of the same demonstrative pronouns from one context to other.

The aim of the current study was to assess and reveal the significance of this contrast use of the demonstrative pronoun “this” in Al-Hajj Surah and Saad Surah.

The descriptive analytical approach was employed in the current study.

Some ayat of both Al-Hajj Surah and Saad Surah were started with the demonstrative pronoun “this”, but it was used in different meaning of each surah for technical and rhetorical reasons clarified in the study.

That is Al-Hajj Sura was characterized by the large presence of the demonstrative pronoun "This" combined with “Lam of distance” and “the second person Kaaf”, whereas “Saad Surah was characterized by the large number of the same demonstrative pronoun "This” preceded by the alert letter “ha”.
