Abstract EN

This research aims at viewing and analyzing the population age-structure of the great city of Amman in 2015, and recognizing the distribution of the main population groups (young people, youth and the elderly) in the neighborhoods of the city.

Coulson's hypothesis was used which depends on Regression Equation to reach the values of age composition index.

The study depended on the population census results of the year 2015.

It concluded that the elderly are centered in the west part of the downtown, and around the (CBD) area In the north-western, and west of the city.

some other elderly are centered in some neighborhoods that are considered as new suburbs in the south-western direction of the city.

The youth category is centered in most neighborhoods of the city, more primarily in the middle of east and south of the city.

Also, in an annular shape around the old areas of Amman, especially to the north areas of the city and to the west as well.

The young people category is spread almost all over the neighborhoods but centered more in the southern and the eastern parts of the city, and in some new residential areas in the north and in the west.

The young people category often gathered in the youth clustery the youth category gathered in the elderly clustery.
