Abstract EN

This study aimed to detect the general and specific characteristics of theses and Dissertation in Educational and psychological counseling approved by the Department of counseling and special education at the University of Jordan.

The study included all the (171) theses / Dissertation approved by the department between (2000 & 2017).

Findings for Bibliometric analysis revealed that: the majority of researchers were female and Jordanians; Professor Mohammad Nazih Hamdai & Professor Nasima Dawoud ranked the first among supervisors with (28) theses; the subject matter of the majority of theses was Group Therapy Counseling and Psychological and behavioral disorders.

It provided a number of recommendations including: benefit from the results of this study to put and develop a research plan to the department of counseling and special education to deal with different fields of research within the department
