Abstract EN

This study aims at identifying the effect of two developed units of the geography Textbook for the grade 10 on student's acquisition of geographical concepts in the light of the geographical inquiry methodology.

The semi- experimental approach is used to achieve the aim of current study.

The sample of the study consists of (88) female students from the Um Habbiya Secondary School for Girls, a public school in the Ministry of Education in Jordan.

They are divided into two groups: an experimental group (45) students and controlled (43)students.

To achieve the aim of the study, the appropriate study tools are prepared, The tools include two developed units of geography textbook, the teacher book, and a test of (30) paragraphs to test the geographical concepts.

The test is conducted on experimental and control groups both before and after the completion of the study.

To answer the study questions, the mean, standard deviations and ANCOVA are used to examine the significance of statistical differences and Eta Square to examine the effect of the experimental variable.

The results show statistically significant differences at the level of statistical significance (α = 0.05) in favor of the experimental group that received the developed unit in the light of the geographical inquiry methodology compared to the normal unit.

Based upon the findings, the study concludes by offering a number of recommendations
