Abstract EN

The study examined the predicative ability of stress and depression among mothers of children with autism of their quality of life in Jordan.

To achieve the objective of the study, the researcher developed the quality of life and stress scales in addition to using Beck Depression Scale.

The study employed the survey correlational design.

The sample of the study consisted of (200 mothers in Jordan.

For data analysis, means, standard deviations, frequencies, percentages, Pearson coefficients, linear regression and z- Fisher were used.

The results of the study indicated that levels of stress and quality of life was moderate.

Mild depression was the most prevalent.

There was no correlation between quality of life from one hand, stress and depression among mothers on the other.

The results showed statistically significant correlation between stress and depression.

It was found that stress was the most significant contributor in predicting quality of life compared to depression and anxiety.

The study indicated no statistically significant differences in the magnitude of the correlation between quality of life from one hand and stress, anxiety, depression among mothers on the other due educational level.

There was no statistically significant differences in the magnitude of the correlation between stress and quality of life due to educational level.
