Egg geometrical parameters (surface area, volume, and shape index) play important rolls in both chick survivals, and consumer desire, which effected by genetic and environmental factors.
Regression is a mathematical way to predict and investigate the relationship between the variables.
The dimension of Two hundred twenty eggs where taken immediately after collection by using electronic clipper vernier with (0.01) accuracy.
The equations were used to measuring the egg volume, surface area and shape index.
Multiple linear regression analyses were performed to determine the equation of predicting the three geometric elements.
The regression coefficients R2 and the level of statistical significant of model predicted the egg surface area, egg volume, and egg shape index were 0.999, 0.006, 0.993 (p<0.001) respectively.
And the equation of the three parameters were Egg surface area (ESA) (mm) = -5878.47 +92.32 Length (L) + 108.38 Breadth (B), Egg volume (EV (mm) = -88131.12 +933.49 Length (L) + 2114.00 Breadth (B), and Egg shape index (ESI %) = 76.79 -1.39 Length (L) + 1.81 Breadth (B) respectively.
