Abstract EN

This research is an academic historical study that derives its scientific material completely from the US State Department documents.

It aims to track the development of the relations of the United States of America with Romania and clarify the objectives of each country in terms of normalizing their political relations and increasing the rates of trade exchange.

And shedding light on the most important internal and external issues that have affected the nature of the course of these bilateral relations.

The research begins in 1979, which is the beginning of President Carter's assumption of power in the United States of America.

The year 1980 ends with the visit of the presidential envoy from the US administration, which resulted in the return of bilateral relations to their normal course after a slight tension between them due to the issue of the separation of the Roman general Bachiba from his country and his asylum in the United States of America.
