This study aims at investigating the effect of using a Website based on self-learning on developing skills performance towards learning Microsoft Office skills among seventh grade students.
The study used a quasiexperimental research design as research methodology.
The study sample consisted of (61) students of the seventh grader students in the Ibn AlTufyel School, who were intentionally chosen.
The students were randomly divided into two groups: the control group which studied Microsoft Office Skills by using the conventional approach; it consisted of (31) participants; and the experimental group which studied Microsoft Office Skills by using a Website based on self-learning; it consisted of (30) participants.
The study conducted during the first semester of the scholastic year 2018/2019.
To achieve the objectives of the study, a skills performance test in Microsoft Office was applied; it consisted of (25) items.
For the purpose of statistical analysis in answering the study question, and to determine the direction of differences, the arithmetic means, standard deviations, independent sample t-test, and ANCOVA were used.
However, the validity and reliability tests were conducted for the study tools.
The results showed that there were statistically significant differences between the arithmetic mean of the performance of students of the experimental group and the arithmetic mean of the performance of the control group in the skills performance on the post-test attributed to the experimental group.
In light of the findings, the researchers recommend using a Website based on self-learning to develop skills performance towards learning Microsoft Office skills among seventh-grade students.
