The disabled childhood category is among the most vulnerable groups of people with needs in society, as it combines young age on the one hand and disability on the other hand.

Therefore, the handicapped childhood group received great attention at the international and internal levels, due to the physical conditions and social obstacles that disability exposes them to And a difficult psychological, and the latter is a sufficient reason to provide health, educational and rehabilitation care to enable them to overcome these obstacles.

This group needs care, treatment and attention that exceeds what healthy children need, and this is what has been enshrined in international declarations, conventions and covenants on the one hand, and the Algerian legislator has committed to it, by adopting an arsenal of legal texts with the aim of devoting legal protection for the benefit of disabled children.

This is through Law 02-09 on the protection and promotion of people with disabilities, and Law 12-15 on the protection of the child.

Through it, he devoted a set of necessary measures to protect this category from all risks, whether at the legal, institutional or administrative level.
