Abstract EN

This study aimed to highlight the role of local radio in enhancing rural woman awareness of food security issues; This is done by revealing the extent of the Laghouat radio programs' contribution to developing rural woman awareness of food security issues; Persons number of the study sample population reached (50) rural woman from the Town of Laghouat.

We adopted in this study the analytical descriptive approach and a questionnaire was built to find out the opinions of the respondents from rural women in the city of Laghouat.

The study concluded that the radio broadcast of Laghouat had contributed greatly to the definition of food security issues and encouraged engagement in local development projects; The results of the study also found that the contribution of rural woman to food security issues; It was restricted to aspect of family allowance only and was not yet up to the development of the local community.
