Abstract EN

The study aimed at identifying the reality of building and developing job competencies in Islamic banks.

The descriptive analytical approach was used in this study.

The sample consisted of (204) leaders represented 64% of the study population consisted of (318 leaders).

The study concluded with a set of results, the most important of which are: Building competencies did not reach the level of excellence due to the low level of education outputs, insufficient attention given to training, experience of most employees is still average, level of applying competency principles is modest.

These results indicate deficiencies in each of the power system represented in (ability, desire, empowerment) and the trust system and the values it contains which are the two main components of competency.

In light of the results of the study, a set of recommendations were proposed, the most important of which are: Developing the education and training system in line with the requirements of the sectors, intensifying specialized, legal, public and ethical training courses, and adopting the competency system as a management approach when running the human resources through (applying the competency-building model that was concluded in this study).
