Abstract EN

This study, highlights the Maghreb Labor and Trade Union movement in Tunis, Morocco and Algeria during the colonial period (1920-1962).

Its role in national activities started with the establishment of first and second General Currency Universities of Tunis.

Creation of these Trade Unions increased during the World War II (1939-1945) and their rise reached the peak with the establishment of Tunisian General Union of Labor led.

In Morocco as well, the workers class contributed to the national activities in the form of professional gatherings at the beginning, then gradually developed and culminated in the Confederation of Trade Union.

This Confederation has been transformed into the General Union of Trade Unions since 1946 which later became an independent trade union since 1950 bearing the name of the Maghreb Union of Labor.

But in Algeria, the Trade Union movement was characterized as sometimes active and sometimes inactive and cold.

After the revolution, Algerian workers joined the Algerian General Federation of Workers in 1956 to participate in the national struggle against colonial domination.
